Memorial Day is an American holiday, observed on the last Monday of May,
honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military.
Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following
the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971.
At Cowell's Cleaners we consider it an honor to press all US Flags for the
caskets of deceased Veterans at no charge. Their service is greatly
appreciated.
The Saturday Sessions in Bear Plaza are rotating music and art weekends
located in the heart of downtown New Bern. Saturday Sessions run from
1pm-5pm every Saturday until Mumfest weekend in October.
Special Saturday Sessions children’s programming is available as well.

Easter is truly a special time of year. It is the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus from the tomb on the third day after his crucifixion. Remembering the resurrection of Jesus is a way to renew daily hope that we have victory over sin. As we gather together to celebrate this time, we are also reminded of the many blessings of family.
