Memorial Day is an American holiday, observed on the last Monday of May,
honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military.
Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following
the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971.
At Cowell's Cleaners we consider it an honor to press all US Flags for the
caskets of deceased Veterans at no charge. Their service is greatly
appreciated.
The Saturday Sessions in Bear Plaza are rotating music and art weekends
located in the heart of downtown New Bern. Saturday Sessions run from
1pm-5pm every Saturday until Mumfest weekend in October.
Special Saturday Sessions children’s programming is available as well.

A big Thank You to everyone who came out to support New Bern Get Your Color On at the Carnival of Colours inside the North Carolina History Center. We enjoyed great local music, refreshments, games, prizes, a raffle and more. It was a wonderful celebration of life for cancer patients, caregivers and survivors.

Cowell’s Cleaners was pleased to partner with the Girl Scouts of Craven, Pamlico & Carteret Counties as collection points for their December Coat Drive . Through their efforts, the Girl Scouts were able to collect dozens of coats, gloves, scarves and hats for those in need.
