Empty Bowls is a wonderful community event that combines locally handcrafted bowls with a hearty lunch prepared by local restaurants and church groups. Proceeds benefit Religious Community Services and the Craven Arts Council which helps nurture the creative process and feed hungry people in Craven, Jones & Pamlico Counties.
This year MumFest has been changed to MumFeast! This month-long, weekends only event is an expansion of Downtown New Bern's Street Cafes. Each weekend in October, the Downtown streets will close on Friday at 5 pm until Saturday at 10 pm. Participating restaurants will provide 'Feasting in the Streets', local shops will sell merchandise on the sidewalks and there will be a variety of artisan and retail vendors. At Union Point Park there will be the popular mum arch and maze.
